Sonakshi recently revealed the reason for her decision, which was to escape 'nazar' (the evil eye). She also stated that as an actor, one is constantly in the spotlight, so some things should be kept private. Sonakshi Sinha was recently asked by a News channel whether there was a specific reason she and Zaheer Iqbal did not openly publicise their relationship. In answer, the actress said, "Yaa, nazar," which means to keep the evil eye away.

Sonakshi went on to say that as an actor, she believes her work and legacy are frequently overlooked. Thus, she believed that private matters should be kept private. Sona added, "You're already so well-known; everyone knows everything about you. Something so precious to you should be preserved for yourself. Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal married at their house in June. They were surrounded by close friends and family. The pair had used Instagram to make the official wedding announcement and share stunning photos from the ceremony. The bride and groom's smiles were clearly visible when they signed the documents.

In the caption, they acknowledged their love for one another. The note read, "On this day, seven years ago (23.06.2017), in each other's eyes, we saw love in its purest form and decided to hold on to it."
