Kangana’s Threat Works: She Wins National Award

Due to the corona virus pandemic not many movies have been released in one year. However, a lot of Bollywood actors and actresses did enjoy the 67th National Awards which got delayed due to the pandemic. In the 67th National Awards, Kangana Ranaut bagged the award of best film actress for ‘Manikarnika’ and ‘Panga.’ In 2019, Kangana had mentioned that if she was not bestowed with a National Award for her portrayal in ‘Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi’, a lot of credibility questions in relation to the awards will arise.

However, she did mention that if she found any other good work then, she would be objective enough to say it’s better than her.

Be that as it may, apart from Kangana’s ‘Manikarnika’ and ‘Panga’, there were other films which did deserve a mention such as ‘Tanhaji’, based on their box office performance. In addition to that, Vidya Balan’s performance in ‘Mission Mangal’ also deserved to have a mention in the 67th National Awards.

Kangana Ranaut is a phenomenal actress indeed, but her above mentioned statement to the media makes one question whether the awards were based on merit or not. In addition to that, it makes one wonder whether toeing the government’s line and joining the opposition is what is required to win national awards?

Apart from Kangana Ranaut, Manoj Bajpayee and Dhanush have shared the Best Actor award for ‘Bhonsle’ and ‘Asuran’ respectively.
