Know Everything About Atomberg Technologies In 2025

By 2025, Atomberg Technologies will have become one of the most successful consumer-tech startups in India. Starting from a smart fan manufacturer, Atomberg has now grown into a ₹1,000 crore revenue company. Its product portfolio and value proposition in the home appliance business are innovatively differentiated with technology-related, sustainable, and innovation-focused strategies.

Origin and Goal

Atomberg was founded in 2012 by two IIT Bombay graduates, Manoj Meena and Sibabrata Das. By the time they started their entrepreneurial journey at the SINE incubator at IIT Bombay, they had their eyes set on developing energy-efficient hardware solutions using next-gen technologies. They had their first break by building India's first BLDC (Brushless DC) motor-based ceiling fan under the brand Gorilla. Traditional fans consumed 75 watts while Atomberg's BLDC fans run on a mere 28-35 watts, delivering up to 65% energy savings.

What differentiated Atomberg was its proprietary AtomSENSE algorithm. This motor-control technology allowed for real-time optimization of power consumption, surge control, and IoT functionality. Their fans could be controlled via apps, voice commands, or remotes, bringing modern design combined with smart performance.

Growth Path

Atomberg's first order of 500 units sold out too quickly, so the next step was to pivot the sales plan to online and business-to-business engagements. To establish credibility and gain visibility, Atomberg proactively entered (completed) early-stage contracts with reputable businesses like Reliance, Infosys, and IIT Bombay.

By FY2024, Atomberg realized revenue at ₹848 crore, a 31% increase from the previous year, but still, as a result of their aggressive investment in new employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs) and proliferated investment and expansion plans, Atomberg had incurred a net loss at a staggering ₹202 crore. Nevertheless, in 2025, Atomberg successfully crossed the significant ₹1,000 crore revenue barrier. Atomberg's revenue-setting accomplishment placed it within the bandwidth of the fastest-growing consumer brands in India.

Product Growth and Extension

Originally wholesaling only fans, Atomberg expanded into mixer grinders, smart door locks, water purifiers, and arrays of appliances. Atomberg is here to disrupt consumer home appliances with technology that is smart, sustainable, and easy to use.

In 2023, they raised $86 million in Series C funding from large investors such as Temasek and Steadview Capital, believing the funding would go towards growing their manufacturing capacity, R&D, and quickly increasing their offline presence to over 30,000 stores.

In 2025, the company announced a collaboration with Kaynes Technology designed to improve design-for-manufacturing through product launches with greater cost control and improved time-to-market.

Brand Identity & Marketing

Marketing strategies for Atomberg, like the #WhyNot digital campaign, are about breaking normative ideas we hold about products we use at home. Their perfect amalgamation of function and form carries modern relevance to the consumer. However, the most significant forthcoming of the brand occurred in early 2022 when Atomberg signed a sponsorship deal with the BCCI to become an official sponsor for ₹ 40.8 crores, which gave them visibility for an IPL season and during other major sporting events.

Awards & Opportunities

The company has amassed awards, including the National Entrepreneurship Award, and was recognized by the Prime Minister as a Champion of Change. They have also been on Forbes India's and Asia's "30 Under 30" lists. These accomplishments have proven that, as innovators in India's hardware space and IoT start-up market, the founders have a significant influence.

Atomberg aspires to be a multi-category appliance brand in the future. To do this, they will be deepening their manufacturing base, continuing to innovate products, and traversing to other countries internationally. They now have a circumstantial advantage to compete against the legacy brands of Crompton, Bajaj, and Orient worldwide.

Atomberg's narrative has illustrated that with a focus on vision, innovation, and execution, a startup can not only scale but entirely own the current market space by 2025.
