NCB Sends 85 Gadgets, 25 Drug Samples To Gujarat’s Forensic Experts

Check out the latest update on NCB and the drug probe which led 85 gadgets and 25 drug samples to be transported to DFS.

With the death of actor, Sushant Singh Rajput in June, an angel of drug addiction has followed in its wake, which is been probed by the officials of NCB. Recently, NCB has sent 85 gadgets, which are owned by celebrities, to Directorate of Forensic Sciences in Gandhinagar. These gadgets have been collected in the past 45 days, which helps DFS in data extraction of the deleted video or voice clips, chats and cell phone numbers. This data is then sent to NCB for conducting raids and arrests in Mumbai.

The gadgets that were sent to DFS included the phones and laptops of celebrities like Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty, Sara Ali Khan, Arjun Rampal, Shraddha Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and their associates. The challenge with these gadgets encountered by the officials is that they have extremely high storage with enhanced security features which makes the process of data extraction difficult.

Besides the gadgets, NCB has also started collecting drug samples and has begun sending them to Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), in order to track down the buyers and suppliers. The officials have been able to collect 25 samples.

Beginning the probe from Enforcement Directorate, NCB has arrested more than 25 people and questioned more than 50, which includes, Bollywood celebrities, drug peddlers and other associates.
