People have been wondering who the characters in the web series, especially the ones who help Abdul Karim Telgi are based on.
Here is the list of real-life figures on whom we think the characters shown in the web series was inspired from
1. Bar Dancer - Tarannum Khan
In the web series, Abdul is seen spending an obscene amount of cash - 90L+ on a bar dancer over a single night. As per news articles, the bar dancer is absed on Tarannum Khan, who was rumored to own a lavish flat in Versova & was even in the centre of the amtch fixing scam. She was rumored to resemble Bollywood celeb Madhuri Dixit. Many people including Sri Lankan cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan were her admirers.
2. Karnataka CM - SM Krishna
As per news reports available online, SM Krishna was the CM of Karnataka during the Rajkumar hostage crisis. Telgi is shown giving huge suicases full of cash to the CM's minister. while it is difficult to say the name of the minister who was directly involved with Telgi - it was definitely someone from SM Krishna's government. SM Krishna was a member of the Congress party.
3. Maharashtra Politician - Sharad Pawar & Chhagan Bhujbal
Bharat Dabholkar plays a top politician who had a huge role in Telgi's rise. As per rumors, Sharad Pawar & Chhajan Bhujbal - both who were part of the undivided NCP when the Telgi scam happened were close to Telgi. It is possible that Bharat Dabholkar's character is an amalgamation of 2-3 NCP leaders
4. J. Suri - S.S Puri
Aman Verma plays cop - Jagdish Suri. It is probably inspired from top cop S.S Puri who was part of the SIT on the case.
