Review: Satyaprem Ki Katha

The Kiara and Kartik starrer Satyaprem ki Katha was released on 29th June 2023. Have you watched it yet? Well, after watching Bhool Bhulaiya 2, I was really very excited to what this on-screen couple's chemistry again. I must say they didn't disappoint me at all. 

The movie has amazing music, both the actors look fabulous in all their looks and styles. As the characters belong to Gujrat, the makers had given immense importance to the details of the outfits and dialogues. Apart from Kartik and Kiara, it also stars Gajraj Rao, Supriya Pathak, Sidharth Randeria and Sikha Talsania in key roles. I really enjoyed the powerful characters of Supriyaji and Sikha, who played the mother and sister of Sattu. They play two independent women who run the house and the males of the family do the household cores and this is amazing we want more in the society. Isn't it? As we know, Gajraj Rao is an amazing actor and he played the role of Sattu's father. The character was justified by him as a funny yet supporting father.

The first half of the film what a bit low and I couldn't really make out the plot and storyline till then. In simple words, the first half spread dots and after the intermission all the dots were connected with each other and one after the other, things were getting clear and we would feel the story. I can't forget to mention some of my favourite scenes like when Sattu went to get Tapan with the 'Aj Ke Baad' song in the background and the other when Sattu got emotion infront of Katha seeing his dream of taking her on dates coming true. 

I think they were successful in bring light to the issue of date rape and showcased it quite well. 

Both Kartik and Kiara's character made their entries through solo performance songs and it was breath taking. I immensely enjoyed the Garba song with the perfect moves of Kartik and beautiful Kiara in the lehenga-choli. 

You can definately watch this film, there is nothing you won't like in it. I would give it a 4/5 rating.
