Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani Ending Explained

What happens to Jaya Bachchan at the end of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani?

The family drama starring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh pits Chatterjees against Randhawas in a battle of cultures.

You realise that the dichotomy between the two kin is more nuanced than you might think when Tijori, conditioned by his mother's venom, tells Rocky to "handle" his woman as she talks back to him, with the latter pushing away his pointed finger. By this stage in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Johar has already created a significant work on conditioning, even incorporating passing references to body-shaming, cultural appropriation, and canceled culture. He ventures into the more unexplored terrain of "unlearning" in the scenes that come after, though.

Rocky and Rani's public argument and eventual split made sense since no one should disobey their family, no matter how awful they may be. A post-Rani storm is developing within the Randhawa residence, albeit later. Rani is the anti-Dhanalakshmi since she utilizes her power to help Rocky and the women from the home who wore head coverings find their spines.

Finally, Rocky, Punam, and Gayatri threaten to leave the house and call out the pervasive sexism in the household thanks to mother and son. A sick Dharmendra, Rocky's grandfather and the person legally in charge of the issue, arrives just then and tells an upset Tijori—his name was finally remembered—not to split up the family.

Tijori is able to experience emotion for the first time because of Dharmendra's message and passing, which are shown in the montage that follows. Johar essentially forces him to start "unlearning" at that point. When Rocky packed up his gear and branded clothing to move in with the Chatterjees, the focus on a conditioned guy learning to unlearn began.
After only a few weeks, he was hanging up the women's pants, getting called out for making any politically incorrect remarks and enrolling in his future father-in-law's kathak class. Rani is reprimanded by her liberal and morally upright family for wrongdoing with Tijori and for failing to fight hard enough for Rocky to become the better man he has devoted his life to being.

Rocky ignores Rani's call and doesn't answer. The Randhawa family is experiencing transformation as a result of Tijori's realisation that being his mother's perfect son has cost him his father and now his own family. Tijori ultimately turns on Dhanalakshmi and begs his wife and kids to stay with him. Punam and he go to the Chatterjees to ask Rani's forgiveness and, should she be willing, to cordially welcome her into the family as the tide sets into this new normal. Before they can even finish speaking, Rani is out the door dashing towards Rocky and his grander-than-necessary wedding gesture, completely decked out in eye-searing Rani Pink.

So, as it was always meant to be, Rocky and Rani live happily ever after.

The movie Rocky aur Rani ki Prem Kahani, which was directed by Karan Johar, came out on July 27, featuring a host of actors, including Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra, and Alia Bhatt.
