Dinesh Vijan's horror-cinematic universe is one of the country's most popular film universes. Stree, starring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, and Pankaj Tripathi, was a box office smash, grossing over Rs 100 crores in India. As other directors were waiting for theatre conditions to improve, Roohi, starring Jahnvi Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, and Varun Sharma, released during Covid-19 and yet managed to do good business. As other films were failing left, right, and centre, Bhediya, starring Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon, managed to earn acceptable numbers. Maddock Pictures, being the ambitious production firm that they are, has proactively revealed the release dates of their next horror-comedy universe flicks.
Stree 2 will be released in theatres on August 31, 2024.
Stree, the most successful film in the horror-comedy universe, is getting a sequel called Stree 2. The film will be released on August 31st, 2024, more than six years after the original.
