2020 was undoubtedly the most unwonted year of this century. Owing to the nationwide restrictions on public places, we have witnessed a huge transition from cinema halls to digital or OTT platforms. The users of digital platform have increased manifold during the pandemic. However, the closure of theatres resulted in a major setback for the Telugu film industry. The opening of cinema halls in most places with social distancing and frequent sanitizing has raised the hopes of certain Tollywood A-listers who need to revive their drowning careers. Here is a list of 5 such South Indian actors:

Ravi Teja

  Known as the ‘Mass Maharaja’ by his fans, Ravi Teja is hopeful of making a comeback with action-based Krack, after almost three ill-omened years of his acting career. His fans are quite elated to see Ravi Teja reunited with his Balupu co-star, Shruti Hassan in the upcoming film, Krack, set to release on January 9. Another film named, Khiladi is also expected to mark his comeback within a few months.

 

Vijay Deverakonda

The controversial movie, Arjun Reddy had indeed put Vijay Deverakonda on limelight for a long time. Nonetheless, the failure of NOTA and Dear Comrade at the box office was a major setback in his career. Despite his efforts in World Famous Lover, the movie failed miserably in grabbing the attention of the audience. In 2021, VD is ready mark to his Bollywood debut with the Hindi-Telugu Fighter. Let’s see if the movie does wonders at the box office, thus, opening a new career path for him.

 

Balakrishna

It has been very difficult for the mass hero, Balakrishna to get projects which can enable him impress his fans yet again. The 2019 film, NTR Kathanayakudu and its sequel, NTR Mahanayakudu gave a shock to his career with their disastrous performance at the box-office. Balakrisna made his last screen appearance in Ruler, which was also a flop among the audience.  He hopes to re-impress his fans with NBK 106, the release date of which is not known yet.

 

Nagarjuna

The actor has been at the target of critics after delivering films such as Officer and Manmadhudhu 2. He hopes to make a wild-card entry with his upcoming movie, Wild Dog. The film, has a likeable supporting cast namely, Dia Mirza and Saiyami Kher. He will also make his Bollywood comeback in the same year with Brahmastra.

 

Ram Charan

The negative reviews, following the release of Boyamati Srinu-directed Vinaya Videya Rama caused a major misfortune for the ‘Mega Power Star’. However, Ram Charan is all set to put his critics behind and hit the screens with the SS Rajamouli directed Rise Roar Revolt. He will also be seen in Acharya, with his father, Chiranjeevi in the lead role.
