November 24, 2024: Another run that has come as an upset at the Box Office is the Sabarmati Report, which registered a good rise on the second Saturday at the Box Office… The original movie hit the big screens on the 15th of November, and from a humble start, it has been gracious in its’ rise to fame powered by good-mouth marketing and general public help.
The film, which grossed ₹11.5 crore in the opening week, earned an additional ₹1.4 crore on the second Friday. However, it got a new lease of life on the second Saturday, i.e. April 10, when collections registered 85% growth. With this boost, the total collection of the movie is at ₹ 15.5 crore.
Tax-Free Status and Political Recognition Fuel Momentum
Furthering its pace, the Sabarmati report is now declared tax-free in the states of Haryana and Madhya Pradesh. Hiking and keeping the ticket prices down have enabled the organizers to attract a larger audience. Additionally, this film has received a favorable reception from central political leaders with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several Chief Ministers of the States. This political endorsement has, in one way or another, boosted its popularity among the people.
A Moderate Budget and Limited Screens Work in Its Favor
On a low budget and the movie released only on 600 screens, the Sabarmati Report has done well. But this steady growth is a clear example of how having powerful content and a relevant-to-the-buzz attitude can compensate for minor shortcomings. Analyses of the Industry have implied that it has been the engaging story and socially important themes that have captured the people.

The Road Ahead
Unlike any continuous national blockbusters like Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, Singham Again, etc., The Sabarmati Report has found its place. On the other hand, Abhishek Bachchan’s I Want To Talk has also been highly reviewed, but the movie could not set cash registers ringing.
Competing in a Crowded Market
Sunday collections alone are expected to go up, and the Sabarmati Report includes signs of the possible strength into the next week. As the word spreads, this has all the ingredients of an upstart hit and might have the potential of many a sleeper of the year.
