The Trial: Pyaar Kaanoon Dhokha Review

The Trial is one of the most anitcipated series of India. It stars Kajol (Noyonika) is the main roles and also has Jisshu Sengupta (Rajiv), Sheeba Chaddha (Malini), Kubbra Sait (Sana), Aly Khan (Vishal), Gaurav Panday (Dheeraj), Aamir Ali (Pradeep) and Aseem Hattangady (Ilyas) in key roles. The film has been directed by Suparn Verma and is produced by Bnaijay Asia and Ajay Devgn Ffilms. You can watch it on Disney Plus Hostar.

The story of the series is based on the popular series 'The Good Wife'. It revolves around the lives of high profile people involved in the judicial system of the country. It begins with the leak of a sex tap of Rajiv who is a judge and it takes down his entire image and disturbs his entire family. His wife Noyonika who was a top lawyer before she left practicing for her family and children is totally shettered by the reveal and doesn't know what she must do now. She later decides to join a law firm who is owned by one of her long lost lover, Vishal. Each episode showcases different types of cases which are being handles by the law firm. Illyas who is a well wisher of Rajiv doesn't everything to get it clean and wants him to join politics but Noyonika is completly against this.

What I liked the most in the series is that it doesn't just focus on the story of Noyonika and Rajiv but every episode has a story of its own. I absolutely loved the comeback Kajol has made, she is just amazing throughout the series. Also Malini is a strong character in the story and throws light on women empowerment as she partners in the firm with Vishal.  What kept me on the edge of the sit is that very character from Dheeraj to Sana had their own stories to tell and all of it was even equal importance by the writer and director.

The last episode is a game changer has it reveals so much and makes the audience excited about what will happen next. This definately calls for a second season. I would rate this show a 3/5.
