Athit Naik, who played Shiv Kapur in Kal Ho Naa Ho, has since carved a niche for himself in the world of cinematography. Following his early acting career, Naik pursued his passion for film and television production. He studied extensively across the globe, including in the Philippines, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, and Cannes, ultimately graduating from Columbia with a major in cinematography and a minor in directing, marketing, and advertising.
Naik’s professional journey includes working with esteemed production houses like Yash Raj Films and Dharma Productions. He has an impressive portfolio, having shot and produced over 300 short films, 35 music videos, two feature films, and a television sitcom. Additionally, he has gained valuable experience assisting renowned artists such as Milton Santiago, Patrice Cochet, and Adnan X Khan.
Currently, Athit Naik continues to contribute to the film industry as a Director of Photography in India, blending his technical expertise with creative storytelling. Reflecting on his journey, Naik once shared in an interview, “I have a bachelor’s degree in cinematography. I have been working in LA, and I shot three feature films that were screened at various film festivals. I also did a TV show and a bunch of commercials in LA. I got the chance to assist some great cinematographers. I always wanted to do this for a living."
Jhanak Shukla: From Child Star to Archaeology Enthusiast
Jhanak Shukla, who portrayed the adorable Gia Kapur in Kal Ho Naa Ho, also left a mark on Indian television as the star of the popular series Karishma Kaa Karishma. Despite her early success in acting, Jhanak chose to pursue a different path. Encouraged by her parents to prioritize her education, she ventured into archaeology and later completed her MBA during the pandemic.
While Jhanak decided to step away from acting, she remains open to special opportunities. In 2023, she got engaged to Swapnil Suryawanshi, a certified fitness trainer, marking another significant milestone in her life. Jhanak’s mother, actor Supriya Shukla, shared heartfelt moments from the Roka ceremony on social media, celebrating this joyous occasion.
