Top 7 Old Doordarshan Serials from the 80's & 90's Era

Was your childhood also filled with Doordarshan shows or is it just me? Those days were so special and I can never forget them. Doordarhan had so many amazing shows. These shows were infromative, interesting as well as entertaining. I had all kinds of shows from serials to animations. Today, I will be talking about some of his classic old shows. You can kind these shows on youtube or their DVDs. 

1| Alif Laila (1997 - 2002)

It had Shahnawaz Pradhan and Seema Kanwal as lead characters. It had a magical theme. It had a total of around 260 episodes but those were jsut not enough I still want more of its episodes. Like every show of that era, it had a great title song. 

2| Buniyaad (1986)

It is a re-aired show. It is a story of a common man after India's partition. It stars Alok Nath as the lead character of a freedom fighter. It has many known faces in its cast like Soni Razdan, Goga Kapoor etc. It has around 105 episodes. 

3| Byomkesh Bakshi (1993)

This is a suspense thriller. This is one of my most loved detective serials. It had thrill, humour and everything. It isn't a long serial and has just 34 episodes.

4| Bharat Ek Khoj (1988)

This show is related to the history of India. It has 53 episodes and is directed by Shyam Benegal. It shows the stories of Akbar, Ramayana, Ahoka and many more. You can a lot from this serial. There are various unknown facts here. 

5| Chandrakanta (1994 - 1996)

It is based on a novel. There was a controvery when the show started as the writer's family raised some issues. The title song was given by Sonu Nigam. It has around 130 episodes and stars Shahbaaz Khan and Shikha Swaroop.

6| Circus (1989)

This is an evergreen show. Almost every household watched this show at some point. It stars SRK. It is a great story with amazing excution. 

7| Chanakya: An Epic Saga (1991 - 1992)

It has around 47 episodes. It shows the story of Chanakya. You can learn a lot from this serial.
