Top 7 OTT Platforms in India in 2022 

 

OTT platform has gained a lot of attention in India since the arrival of COVID. The platforms were no doubt in focus even before the situation arised in the world but as Covid-19 rose, it gave OTT platforms the spotlight. As the theatres were all closed and people had to stay at home a lot of movies and films were released through OTTs and they got huge responses. Today, we will be talking about some top OTT platforms. 

1. Disney Plus Hotstar 

It is owned by Novi Digital Entertainment which is a subsidiary of Disney's Star India. It has two paid subscription, one is VIP and the other is Premium. It comes in the list of top OTTs because of its wide range of content and minimum pricing. There are three diffrent plans and they have a validity of one year. You can select the plan as per your affordability and usage. There are a lot of good series and movies available on the platform and many of them are a must watch. 

2. Amazon Prime Videos 

This one one of my favourites and I rely on this platform a lot. I have watched a lot of its series and films. It was launched in 2016 and besides English it is also available in six other Indian languages from 2018. There are different plan available and with each plan you get different preferences on delivery. 

3. MX Player 

This platform is developed by MX Media and Entertainment. Presently, it has a streaming library of 150000 hours in around 12 languages. You can operate the platform on web, iOS and Android. It has different types of content from around the world. 

4. Netflix

This is one of the most popular OTT platform. I think Netflix is the one platform which made OTT a thing. It is very popular amongst the youth. It has a huge content base in different genres and languages. It's plans are very cheap and recently, Netflix had imporved its pricing even more. Now you can watch from any device at just Rs. 199 per month. This platform faces tough competition from Amazon Prime, Hotstar, Voot, and Eros Now in India. 

5. Zee5 

It is anf Indian OTT platform which was launched in 2018. You can watch all the Zee popular serials in all languages on this platform. You can also watch movies. There are different plans available and each plan has screen limits. 

6. Sony Liv 

It is an on demand service owned by Sony Picture Networks India Pvt. Ltd. It contains 18 years of Sony Entertainment content from most of its channels. Presently, the show Shark Tank is on fire on the platform. This is a create show wherein people come to raise funds for their startups. It has unique content and also has some rights on sports event.

7. Sun NXT 

It is an on demand service run by Sun TV Network specially for South Indian cintent. It has content in Malyalam, Kannada, Tamil, Bengali, Telugu and Marathi.
