Here is a list of some of the Top Indian Scientists who achieved global recognition:
- CV Raman
Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman was born in Tiruchirapalli on November 7. He won the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1930 for his work in scattering of light. He was the first person to investigate the harmonic nature pof the sound of the Indian drums.
- Homi J. Bhabha
He was born on 30 October, 1909 in Bombay. Homi Jehangir Bhabha played an important role in the Quantum Theory. He was the first person to become the chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission of India.
- Visvesvaraya
He was born on 15 September, 1860. Sir Visvesvaraya was a notable Indian Engineer, scholar, statesmen and the Diwan of Mysore during 1912 to 1918. He has the credit of inventing automatic sluice gates and block irrigation system.
- Venkatraman Radhakrishnan
Born in May 18, 1929 in Tondaripet, a suburb of Chennai. Venkataraman was a globally renowned space scientist and a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.
