Varun Dhawan To Star In A Rajkumar Hirani Production

VARUN DHAWAN has been signed to play the lead in a Slice of Life film written and produced by RAJKUMAR HIRANI.

This film will be directed by one of HIRANI's Assistant Director marking his or her directorial debut and will go on floors mid next year. HIRANI and DHAWAN were in talks earlier in 2018 for a two hero film under HIRANI's production but it didnt materialise. The story is based on true events and VARUN is now looking to expand his slate of films.

VARUN has FOUR Films including this in his lineup. For 2022, Varun is scheduled to shoot Three Films including HIRANI's production along with EKKIS, directed by SRIRAM RAGHAVAN, which is based on the life of LT. ARUN KHETERPAL as well as SANKI, which is a SAJID NADIADWALA Production and ANURAG SINGH directorial. Said to be a Hindi Remake of KARTHICK NAREN's 'D-16', the film is currently in writing stage. In 2023, he is likely to collaborate with MOHIT SURI for an ACTION THRILLER to be produced by BHUSHAN KUMAR.

RAJKUMAR HIRANI, on the other hand, is working on Pre Production of his next directorial, a SOCIAL COMEDY based on IMMIGRATION, with SHAH RUKH KHAN which will go on floors in Mid 2022 and is looking tentatively for a SUMMER 2023 release. He is also said to be working again with RANBIR KAPOOR post SRK's film and is working on the script of it as well.
