The upcoming movie featuring Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan has been making headlines since last year. In November, an image of both actors was leaked online. The film will be Laxman Utekar's next directorial venture following the critically acclaimed movie Mimi, which starred Kriti Sanon in the lead role. It has now been revealed that Vicky and Sara's film is titled "Luka Chuppi 2," and it is the second installment in the franchise after the first movie, which starred Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon.

According to the latest official update from the filmmakers, the movie is set to release on June 2 of this year. They will also announce the title on May 16, which coincides with Vicky Kaushal’s birthday.

Although reports from last year suggested that Vicky and Sara would be playing a married couple in the film, there has been no official confirmation from the filmmakers. It is also unclear whether the film will be released in theaters or directly on an OTT platform. Reports from Bollywood Hungama in September 2022 indicated that the movie would be released directly on Netflix, and that the streaming giant had acquired it for Rs. 70 crores. This marks Utekar's second consecutive release on Netflix following Mimi.

An insider disclosed, "The revenue generated from satellite rights will be in addition to this sum of Rs. 70 crores. Laxman Utekar's previous film, Mimi, performed extremely well on Netflix, and it appears that this one is also being appreciated by those who have viewed it. The film's tremendous success in securing this massive deal can be attributed to the director's talent, the quality of the content, and the credibility of the producer.
