Vijay Sethupathi To Play Muttiah Muralitharan In Biopic

OTT platforms are the most followed and accessible source these days for cine-lovers. The Action-drama thriller webseries have been the flavour of this season, which people enjoy binge watching. On the other hand the biopic culture has also been evolving over the years and gained a lot of momentum. The most popular Tamil Star none other than Vijay Sethupathi also wants to experience the feel of a biopic, so he accepted a movie titled 800, based on a legendary former Srilankan leg spinner.

The film will be directed and written by a predominant Tamil director Ms Sripathy.

The legendary Leg spinners Biopic’s production is the collaboration of the Bahubali fame – Rana Daggubati’s Suresh production and DAR Motion Pictures.

In 1990s, the world of cricket saw a different bowler whose bowling action was a never ending debate among the players as well as experts. The bowler was the face of many controversies and allegations for his arm bent bowling.

The surprise was Vijay Sethupathi accepting to do the role of an intriguing cricketer whose life was filled with many ups and downs.

In an earlier interview, Vijay Sethupathi said,

I don’t even watch cricket, I feel bored. So I haven’t even watched cricket since my childhood.”

Infact, I even told this to Muttiah Muralitharan Sir and he immediately told me that is the perfect quality for me to play the role.

Vijay Sethupathi had also revealed that the team has kept a special trainer for him to reduce his weight for the role. But he was worried about getting in to shape soon.
