Looks like a hefty amount of Twitter folk are unhappy with Vijay Sethupathi playing the role of a Srilankan Cricketer in a biopic 800 as they trended #shameonvijaysethupathi.

On 8th October, the actor made it official that he’s going to step into Murali’s shoes for the biopic. He received a good response from the Tamil fans. But as the makers unveiled the motion poster of the biopic, hinting that the movie covers many unseen facets of the bowler’s life and Tamil community the actor received the worst criticism ever in his entire career.

Take a look at the motion poster.

Few Twitter users are also fuming on Muralitharan, as he never spoke about what the minority community faced, being a Tamilian in Sri Lanka. Fans are enraged by the fact that a native Tamilian plays the role of an oppressed minority cricketer who played for Sri Lanka.

In one of the old interviews, Muralitharan stated, “why people dig the past and make more enemies out of it. I am a Tamilian. I got affected by the 1977 riots, houses were burnt and I am not thinking about anything. What Jesus has said, forget, forgive, and move forward”.

The movie – 800, is directed by Ms. Sripathy and bank-rolled by Vivek Rangachari and Movie Train motion Picture.
