Yodha Box Office Collection Day 8!!

"Yodha" Box Office Collection: Sidharth Malhotra's Film Witnesses Dip, Earns ₹90 Lakh in India

Sidharth Malhotra's latest action-packed venture, "Yodha," experienced a notable decline at the box office on its eighth day of release in India. The film, which had been performing steadily throughout its first week, saw a drop in earnings on its second Friday.

Directed by debutant duo Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha, "Yodha" stars Sidharth Malhotra in the lead role, alongside Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna. The high-octane thriller follows the story of Arun Katyal, the commanding officer of the elite Yodha Task Force, on a gripping rescue mission.

According to early estimates provided by Sacnilk.com, the film's earnings on its eighth day plummeted to less than ₹1 crore in India, specifically raking in ₹90 lakh nett. This downturn marks a significant contrast to its previous performance, as "Yodha" garnered a commendable ₹25.25 crore during its first week in theaters. With the recent dip, the film's total collection in India has reached ₹26.15 crore thus far.

Critics, however, have not been entirely generous in their assessment of "Yodha." The Hindustan Times review characterized the film's narrative as clichéd and superficial, particularly in its handling of sensitive topics like the Kashmir issue and terrorism. Despite brief moments of intrigue, such as the suggestion of the protagonist going rogue, the film ultimately fails to offer any substantial innovation, instead opting for a formulaic approach to storytelling.

Nevertheless, amidst the critical scrutiny, actress Raashii Khanna, who portrays the character Priyamvada Katyal in the film, expressed her gratitude to fans for their support. Taking to Instagram, Khanna shared her appreciation for the audience's reception of her role, acknowledging their contributions to her cinematic journey. Additionally, she reflected on the fulfillment of her dream to star in a Dharma Productions film, albeit with a tinge of humor regarding the absence of a quintessential song-and-snow sequence.

Looking ahead, "Yodha" is slated to stream on Prime Video India following its theatrical run, as announced by the streaming platform. Despite the recent setback at the box office, the film's journey continues, with hopes pinned on digital platforms to further extend its reach and impact.

As the entertainment industry continues to evolve, the success of a film transcends mere box office figures, resonating with audiences through diverse platforms and experiences. Whether "Yodha" manages to carve a lasting impression remains to be seen, but its journey serves as a reminder of the ever-shifting dynamics of cinematic storytelling and audience reception.
