He was born on 15th March, 1954 in an Indian Marwari family and was brought up in Bikaner, Rajasthan. His background always made his interest to grow in the field of business. He was a drop out from college and started his first stockbroking business midaway.

Radhakishan Damani, the founder of the mega retail chain stores ‘D- Mart’ in India, is a Mumbai based Entrepreneur, businessman and billionaire investor. Radhakishan is considered the king of the Damani retail business.

Although, he started his business as a stock broker, he knew that to earn money from the market, he needed to invest and trade his own money. And soon he started stock trading his money in the Indian stock market. He made huge profits and he always believed in making profits using different market swings. In 2001, after reaching at a certain point, he suddenly quits the stock market business and decided to enter the retail industry. He launched DMart supermarket, a multi retail chain store and also announced the IPO of D Mart in 2017.

The company is now the 18th most valuable company in the country having a market capital greater than Bajaj Finserv and Nestle.
