So, we brought you 5 such best telugu movies based on Cricket.
Vasantham
Vasantham is one of Venkatesh's best movies and the actor delivered a splendid performance. He played a cricket player, who struggles to get into the National team and we see his life fighting, especially, with his wife, as she suspects his friendship with his best friend Julie.
Golconda High School
Over the years we have seen many sports drama's. But Indraganti's Golconda High school has a special place in the heart's of cricket lovers. The lead role is played by Sumanth, who is a failed champion, training High School guys to turn them into winners.
The school team has a history of bowing out from the tournament at the early stages but the new team of boys are enthusiasts with potential but they lack discipline. The coach (Sumanth) tries to educate & train them about having hope and believing in one's ability to win. Swathi Reddy aka Colors Swathi, played the female lead in the film. The film received positive reviews but didn't work well at the box-office.
Jersey
Jersey is the latest movie that comes to our mind, when people talk about "pure love for sport". The protagonist of the film has been asked to take a moment to look at his life, with one simple request from his son. The protagonist was a former cricketer who quit his cricket career due to health problems. But he does not disclose this to his family and as he loses his Government job due to a scam that he was named forcibly and illegally as a part of, he remains unemployed at home.
This simple request from his kid forces him to change his ways and at the age of 36, when most cricketers, Nani starts playing cricket. How his life changes post this decision, makes for an emotional and inspiring journey. Natural Star Nani put his heart and soul into being a cricketer.
Dear Comrade
One may like or hate the movie. But Dear Comrade is a movie that cannot be ignored for the efforts put by the team in executing the film. Performances by lead cast, Vijay Devarakonda and Rashmika Mandanna are top notch. The movie pacing and screenplay have become it’s biggest issues.
However, from the mainstream media, the movie tries to give the female lead actor a goal and portray her as a cricketer. This movie has its uniqueness embedded in every scene but twisting and turning the story seems to reduce the impact of the story the director, Bharat Kamma, wanted to tell with all his interest. Watch it for the passion the young team has put-in the movie. Anyways, cricket scenes are well executed.
Kousalya Krishnamurthy
Female cricket isn't watched much or given greater importance as men's cricket in India. And not many films have been made on female cricketers who enthusiastically play the sport and win the laurels for the country.
The film talks about a female cricketer who raises above all the odds with the obstacles with the help of her family, especially her cricket loving father, who came from the village to become an international player.
Her expertise is to bowl mystery spin and her coach uses her as a weapon in an important game, making her a star. The film tries to talk about two aspects – women's cricket as well as farmer’s issues. Her father, who is a farmer, represents farmers and Kousalya, represents women sports players from rural and economically backward regions. Aishwarya Rajesh, the main lead and Rajendra Prasad make the movie an easy one-time watch.
