5 South Indian Actress Temples Built By Their Die Hard Fans

 

Cinema and Politics! People (Makkal) of Tamil Nadu have always held these two things very close to their hearts. From Annadurai the first Chief minister of Tamil Nadu to today's Rajinikanth or Kamal Haasan most of the well-known superstars enjoy widespread reputation. In Tamil Nadu, once a Cine actor or politician gains the trust of the people, then they start supporting them endlessly throughout their journey.

Meanwhile, we have seen people constructing temples to gods, great freedom fighters and political leaders etc. But have you seen fans building temples to their favourite actresses? Yes, you heard it right! Building temples is a Kollywood culture, over the years the die-hard fans of a few actresses have built temples to worship their favourite actress. And the latest one to join the list is Nidhhi Agerwal.

Khushboo Sunder

Khushboo made her debut with a Tamil film ( Dharmathin Thalaivan) in 1988 and from then she acted in numerous south films and later shot to fame. It is believed that Khushboo Sunder was the first-ever actress in Kollywood to have a Temple built in her name by her fans. Anyhow it didn't stand long, due to her controversial speech on premarital sex.

Namitha

Namitha was born on May 10, 1981, in the Indian state of Gujarat and the actress predominantly works in three major languages Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada.  In 2008 when she reached the pinnacle of her career, a Namitha devotee built her a temple in Tamil Nadu marking the second such temple for an actress after Khushboo.

Hansika Motwani

Hansika Motwani has been active in the film industry for the past 10+ years. When Hansika stepped into the Kollywood industry, with the film Padikathavan, people started comparing her to actress Khushbu Sundar. And at one point she was one of the most Wanted heroines. That's when her fans planned to set up a temple in Madurai. But she opposed the idea, and missed a chance of creating history after Khusbhoo and Namitha.

Nayantara

Few years back there was a buzz that a temple would be constructed for the Lady Superstar Nayanthara. And when fans approached the Dora actress for her nod to build the temple. She kindly said no to their warm gesture. Interestingly, last year she played the goddess in a Tamil film titled Mookuthi Amman.

Nidhhi Agerwal

It has just been 2 years since the Eeshwaran Beauty Nidhi agerwal made her debut in Tamil industry. Nonetheless, she has got a massive craze, to an extent that her fans have dedicated a temple to her in Chennai. On the occasion of Valentine's day her fans unveiled the temple and conducted a special Pooja. The actress felt ecstatic by the gesture and said she will be grateful to her fans.
