After receiving the Golden Globe award, 'Naatu Naatu' has become the latest fad but few people know about the arduous work which has gone into the song from Rajamouli's historical epic drama, 'RRR'. The song's success was due to more than just the lyrics, music, singing, and action. The collective efforts of the entire team of artists led by director S.S. Rajamouli produced something that received international acclaim and went on to win the Golden Globe for best original song.
Rajamouli, a perfectionist filmmaker, was satisfied with the song after as many as 18 takes. The combination of M.M. Keeravani's melodious music, Chandrabose's lyrics, Rahul Sipligunj and Kala Bhairava's voices, and Prem Rakshith's choreography resulted in a superb song that served as the icing on the cake.
They all gave it their all since Rajamouli wanted to film a mass song featuring Junior NTR and Ram Charan. He was determined that this song be distinct from others. Prem Rakshith made certain that the hook step elevates the song to new heights. His crew recorded 80 different hook steps. It determined the best variant, which proved to be a big success.
There were up to 18 takes during the song's filming to ensure that the two actors' steps synced correctly. Despite the fact that both Junior NTR and Ram Charan are considered as Tollywood's top dancers. According to film critics, this demonstrates the level of precision Rajamouli desired to see in this important component of his production. During the film's advertising, Junior NTR said that the director kept returning back for retakes since he thought their efforts were not delivering the results he desired.
During an interview, Rajamouli revealed another intriguing aspect of the song's filming. 'Naatu Naatu' was filmed outside Ukraine's presidential building. This was prior to the start of the conflict in that country. According to the filmmaker, the edifice shown in the song is the Presidential Palace, while the Parliament Building is located nearby. Ukraine's president, Volodymyr Zelensky, agreed quickly to the film unit's request to film the song in front of the palace.
Zelensky worked as a television actor before becoming President of his country. He is claimed to have portrayed the President in a television show. 'RRR' was released simultaneously in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam around the world earlier this year. The film was a big success in various countries, including the United States and Japan.
'RRR,' set in the 1920s, is a fictitious drama based on two real-life rebels who resisted the British Raj —- Alluri Seetharamaraju and Komaram Bheem, respectively played by Ram Charan and Junior NTR. It was the third highest-earning Indian film of all time, grossing around Rs 1,300 crore worldwide, and gained international acclaim.
