Best Villains Of Kollywood / Tamil Cinema In 2021

The range of regional cinema has increased a lot in recent years. As the protagonists enjoy huge craze and demand in Tamil Cinema, antagonists also enjoy the same spotlight. Of many memorable roles, few characters have stood out for their unique mannerisms. So, here we bring you the list of best Tamil Villains in 2021.

Vijay Sethupathi ( Master)

Vijay Sethupathi is undoubtedly one of the best actors Tamil cinema has ever produced. Many were surprised when he accepted the role of a villain but to our surprise he mesmerised the audience with his wonderful performance. Not only that Vijay gives his heart and soul to any role he does for instance his role of Shilpa in Super Deluxe. Master is also a very important film in Vijay Sethupathi's career. He played the rival opposite Vijay Thalapathy and had received a lot of positive views.

S. J Suryah (Spyder)

The Mahesh Babu and Rakhul Preet Singh starrer is a decent hit at the box office. But the advantage of the film is the antagonist played by S.J Suryah. Sudalai is a complete psycho who extracts happiness by seeing humans deaths, as this uncanny nature brings enough negativity to the character.

A.R. Murugadoss the director of the film specially made the character for S. J. Suryah, who has bulgy eyes and a scary smile with a little mysterious body language. As expected he fitted well in the role and entertained as well as thrilled us till the end.

Prakash Raj (Ghilli)

Prakash Raj is a diverse artist, who fits perfectly into any role be it a hero/ villain, father, Grandfather what not? He has a very good experience as an antagonist in many movies of different languages. No hero or villain can beat him in villanism. For the first time in Tamil cinema Prakash Raj played the antagonist in Ghilli, which is the Tamil remake of Telugu film Okkadu. He was seen in the role of (Muthu Pandi) a goon, with a sense of humour and brutality. The movie starred Vijay Thalapathy and actress Trisha in lead roles.

V. I . S Jayalapan ( Aadukalam)

Pettaikaran played by V. I. S. Jayapalan in Vetri Maaran’s Aadukalam, is yet another interesting character with a negative shade. Pettaikaran is a veteran in cockfights in a selfish disagreement, turns cold against his team member, Karupu (Dhanush), and continues to backstab him. This aged character expressing his anger in a composed way was handled expertly by Jayapalan, and he gave a natural performance as a wealthy older man Pettaikaran, standing opposite to Karupu, who is younger than him was a fascinating conflict to experience.

Arvind Swamy ( Thani Oruvan )

The Bombay hero started his second innings by accepting the villain roles. In Thani Oruvan he excelled in the negative role and stole thousands of hearts with his stellar performance. The movie collected a total of 100 crores at the box office. This movie has been termed as a big return of Aravind Swamy to Tamil cinema, as a villain.

Ramya Krishnan ( Padayappa)

Last but not the least, Ramya Krishnan's role in Padayappa as Neelambari is one of the most celebrated roles of Tamil Cinema. She is one of the greatest lady rivals Rajinikanth has ever faced in Padayappa movie. Her wicked nature doesn’t surface until she discovers that Padayappa is not in love with her, and her father dies of shame.
