Facts About Kattappa Aka Actor Sathyaraj
Maheshwari Sathyaraj, born in Tamil Nadu is also known as Maheswari Subbaiah. He is a film producer, who worked in the Kollywood entertainment industry and his artwork has been released in Tamil language movies. He made his film debut with Film Sattam En Kaiyil (1978). But now he has been known country wide for his role of Kattapa in a blockbuster film Baahubali.
Family Details
The actor was born to Subbaiyan and Nathambal. Sathyaraj had two sisters namely Kalpana Mandradiar anr Roopa Senapathy respectively. The actor got married to Maheshwari in 1979, nephew of producer Madhampatti Sivakumar. The couple gave birth to a daughter Divya (Nutritionist and Psychotherapist) and son Sibiraj.
Educational Qualification
Sathyaraj completed his bachelor's degree in Botany from Government Arts College, Coimbatore. Prior to that he did his School education at St Mary’s Convent School, Coimbatore and Suburban High School, Ramnagar, Coimbatore.
Filmy Career
Before the start of his career Sathyaraj had keen interest in acting. He went to see the shooting of the film Annakili, where he
producer Thiruppur Manian and actor Sivakumar. After that he joined the drama troupe of Komal Swamynathan.
Debut Movie: Sattam En Kaiyil(1978) a Tamil film directed by T. N. Balu with Kamal Haasan, Sripriya. Additing to this he also played a managerial role.
Post that he worked as a production manager for the film Kannan Oru Kaikkuzhanthai, in which he would also act in small roles.
Debut as a director: He started directing movies with Villadhi Villain (1995). Nagma, Radhika were in the lead along with Sathyaraj.
