Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth has revealed the title of her upcoming directorial venture as Lal Salaam, which has generated high levels of anticipation due to Rajinikanth's cameo appearance. Although the film was launched last year, the shoot is scheduled to begin this month, with reports suggesting that filming will commence this week. The first schedule will take place in Chennai, with Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth joining the sets. Shooting is slated to begin on March 8. Additionally, reports indicate that Rajinikanth will participate in the filming of Lal Salaam soon after completing his work on Jailer with Nelson Dilipkumar.

About Lal Salaam

As per the latest update on Lal Salaam, it has been reported that veteran actress Jeevitha has been cast in a pivotal role in the movie, playing the character of Rajinikanth's sister. While there has been no official confirmation on this development, it is expected that the actress will join the film's sets soon.

In November, music composition for Lal Salaam had already commenced, with Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman sharing a picture on Twitter of his jamming session with director Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth.

Aishwaryaa, who is returning to direction after a gap of seven years, has previously directed the blockbuster film 3 starring Dhanush, and Vai Raja Vai, in addition to the documentary Cinema Veeran, which highlighted the journey of stunt choreographers. Lal Salaam, which is being produced by Lyca Productions, is scheduled for release in 2023, with more details to be announced soon.

Meanwhile, Aishwarya expressed her excitement at working with her father Rajinikanth, sharing a poster of Lal Salaam on social media and writing a heartfelt note. She expressed her gratitude for the opportunity, stating that miracles do happen when her father and God trust and believe in her.

Rajinikanth's Jailer

Currently, Rajinikanth is occupied with the filming of Jailer, as per recent reports. The movie is said to be in its final phase of shooting, with the superstar currently working on a large-scale action sequence that is expected to be a major highlight of the film. Alongside Rajinikanth, Jailer also features the leading Malayalam actors Mohanlal and Shivarajkumar, as well as Jackie Shroff. Tamannaah Bhatia has been cast as the female lead.
