Apple Requests Suppliers To Move Some AirPods, Beats Production To India: Report

Apple's iPhone assembler Foxconn is preparing to make Beats headphones in India and hopes to eventually produce AirPods in the country.

According to a Nikkei story on Wednesday, Apple is asking its suppliers to start producing some AirPods and Beats headphones in India. This could be another victory for New Delhi in its campaign for domestic production.

According to the story, which cited sources, Foxconn, an Apple iPhone manufacturer, is getting ready to manufacture Beats headphones in India and eventually plans to create AirPods there as well.

According to the source, Apple will assist Luxshare Precision Industry, a Chinese supplier to the iPhone manufacturer, in producing AirPods in India.

However, Luxshare is now concentrating more on its Vietnamese AirPods operations and may launch major manufacture of Apple products in India later than its rivals, according to the Nikkei newspaper.

A Reuters inquiry for comment received no immediate response from Apple.

The tech giant is intending to construct iPad tablets in addition to moving some aspects of iPhone production from China to other markets, notably India, where it started producing the iPhone 13 earlier this year. The business revealed this week that it would produce the newest iPhone 14, model 14, in India.

In a report published by Bloomberg News on Tuesday, it was stated that India's exports of iPhones had surpassed $1 billion (approximately Rs. 8,134 crore) in just five months since April and are expected to reach USD 2.5 billion (about Rs. 20,350 crore) in the twelve months leading up to March 2023.
