New PS5 models expected to launch in India soon: here’s what’s different from the current version

In terms of availability, sources indicate that India will be able to purchase the new PS5 gaming console starting next month.

Recently, certain nations around the world began receiving the updated PlayStation 5 game console from Sony. The updated PS5 game console, however, was first only offered in Australia. However, current rumours indicate that Sony would soon introduce the improved game console to India.

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has reportedly certified two new PS5 models with model numbers PS5 CFI-1208A and CFI-1208B, according to a source who goes by the handle "PS5 India." As part of a PS5 refill, the new PS5 model numbers from the updated CFI-1200 series are anticipated to arrive in India in the coming weeks.

The tipster noted that compared to the original PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Digital Edition gaming systems, these new PS5 models use about 17 watts less electricity. Additionally, they weigh hundreds of grammes less. The tipster stated in a Twitter thread that "it's internals are different, including a heatpipe and a different fan layout."

 

What’s different in new Sony PS5 gaming console?

According to a different report by Notebook Check that was based on a YouTube Austin Evans dissection of the new PS5 gaming machine, it only weights 3.302 Kgs. The current PS5 gaming console, on the other hand, is substantially lighter than the older PS5 game console, which weighs 3.817 kg.

The article also reveals that the new PS5 gaming console uses just 201W of power as opposed to the original PS5's 218W. The analysis also demonstrates that the new PS5 model is quieter than the previous one. The noise level of the latest PlayStation 5 model is 45dB, compared to 8dB for the original PlayStation 5 gaming machine.
