Toyota to unveil flex-fuel car in India on September 28

The flex-fuel-powered Toyota will be a pilot project for India.

 

Gadkari asserted that automakers should concentrate on creating automobiles that can lessen India's reliance on fuel imports.

India will soon receive its first vehicle fuelled by Flex Fuel. Nitin Gadkari, the transport minister, has made the announcement. The minister will introduce the vehicle on September 28. Toyota will produce it. During the annual session of the Automobile Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA), the news was made. The Toyota car's precise make and additional engine information remain a mystery.To improve road safety, the government will implement a six-airbag rule by year's end.

Speaking to the audience at the ACMA session, Nitin Gadkari discussed the advantages of ethanol and other technologies that will make India a more self-sufficient country, at least in terms of oil imports. Additionally, he discussed the financial advantages of flex fuel usage in terms of economy and environmental friendliness. Gadkari asserted that automakers must concentrate on creating cars that can lessen India's reliance on gasoline imports and even search for more environmentally friendly solutions like Flex Fuel. He asserted that the government is willing to provide an edge by permitting 20% ethanol in gasoline, which would lower the cost of fuel in general.

What is Flex Fuel?

Internal combustion engines are used in flexible fuel vehicles (FFVs), which may run on either pure gasoline or a mixture of gasoline and ethanol. Gadkari contrasted the costs of ethanol and regular gasoline during the annual session. Ethanol costs Rs 60 per litre as opposed to Rs 120 for gasoline. In addition to lowering costs, ethanol and gasoline can be blended to create fewer hazardous pollutants.
