Bhavish Aggarwal was born on August 28, 1985, in Ludhiana, Punjab, to a family of Punjabis. His father, Naresh Aggarwal, is an orthopedic surgeon, and his mother, Usha Aggarwal, is a pathologist. Bhavish spent his childhood in the United Kingdom and returned to India with his family at the age of ten. Career
Bhavish worked as a research intern at Microsoft Research India from 2007. He then joined Microsoft Research India as a research associate in 2008 and worked there until 2010. He has filed two patents and published three papers in international academic journals ¹.

In 2010, Bhavish co-founded Ola Cabs with his college friend Ankit Bhati. The idea struck him after a bad experience with a taxi driver during a trip from Bangalore to Bandipur. He invested Rs 5 lakh, which he saved during his previous job, and in the first round of funding, Ola secured Rs 34 lakh from Snapdeal founder Kunal Bahl, Rehan Yar Khan, and Anupam Mittal ².
Within no time, he had made Ola Cabs ride. It started getting 10,000 rides a day by 2014, the very first milestone. He launched several subsidiaries under his leadership in the name of Ola Fleet, OlaMoney, Ola Dash, and Ola Cars².
Ola Electric
In 2017, Bhavish launched Ola Electric Mobility Private Limited to make electric vehicles accessible and affordable for the masses. He also announced plans to set up a battery innovation center in Bangalore that would become Asia's largest Cell R&D facility ².
