How To Check Call History Of Any Mobile Explained
A large number of people today depend on their smartphones to send messages, use apps, and surf the web, but place an equal number of phone calls. While texting has replaced phone conversations for many people, voice calls will always be an essential function on our mobile devices for personal, professional, and emergency communications. For some people, it may sometimes be necessary to look at someone’s call history for either the protection of their loved ones or responsible behavior. Examples could include monitoring the whereabouts of children or elderly family members to ensure they are protected from scammers, checking the loyalty of a partner, or ensuring employees are working productively during work hours. Regardless of the motive, it can be useful to know how long calls from cell phones last and exactly how to access this information.
How Long Does a Phone Keep Call History
Every mobile phone has its limit on how long or how many call records it can keep. Generally, Android devices can store up to 500 call records (incoming, outgoing, and missed). This means that once the history is filled to its new calls will delete the oldest calls to make space. iPhones, on the other hand, can only keep up to 100 recent calls, which can be found under the “Recents” tab. When data on iPhones is backed up regularly to iCloud, the call log history will be retained for up to 180 days. After that period of time, if you are no longer maintaining a backup of data, the records can only be kept for that period of time or an even shorter period of time are still kept in the delete log.
How to Check the Recent Call History of a Number
Because the two of these operating systems are different, Android and iOS have different processes for checking recent call history. On an Android phone, simply check your call log in the Phone app - tap on the Recents tab. After scrolling through your call history, tap the individual number or contact to view specifics, which will appear as History or Call details, depending on the manufacturer and model of your phone. From there, you will be able to view a list of all the incoming, outgoing and missed calls associated with an individual number.
The process is relatively easy on an iPhone, too. Open the Phone app, and tap Recents to view call history. After selecting the call, you should be able to view the date, time and length of the individual call by tapping the "i" icon next to the phone number. These add a great deal of ease in monitoring and tracking call activity.
