Wheat beers are a favorite among Indian craft beers due to their fruitiness and usually low IBU (International Bitterness Units). So what is wheat beer? Wheat beers use more wheat than barley to make the beer, and the higher protein content of the former results in cloudy beers, but gives the beers a fuller, thicker mouthfeel. Wheat, unlike malted barley, does not add much of its own flavor to the final product, and therefore yeast plays a very important role in flavor. The two most popular types of wheat in India are Hefeweizen and Belgian Wit. Let's look at both one by one and list the Indian brands in bottles for you.
