Blackheads are the dirt and dust particles trapped inside pores which are exposed to the air. Sebum and keratin protein gets trapped in the hair follicle of a pore, as a result when it gets contacted with air it oxidises and appears to be black. If you are tired of trying fancy black head strips and charcoal masks in market and got ineffective results, you may want to fall back to these simple hacks widely used since a long time. Here are some hacks how you can treat blackheads!
Tooth Paste Tip
A mint flavoured white kind toothpaste been used by beauty bloggers as an ultimate remedy to remove black heads. Toothpaste has ingredients and natural extracts that dries out pores. Ingredients like hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, triclosan, menthol, alcohol, mint, salt, clove, etc. help in healing and curing black heads .Take some little amount of a non whitening toothpaste, mix it with a little salt and take a soft bristle brush to rub the mixture gently on your nose and black head areas. Repeating it for maximum thrice a week will keeping a balance that you are not over doing with the active ingredients present in toothpaste that can harm skin if overused and will help you get rid of black heads in a small period of time
Steaming
Steaming your face opens your pores and skin blockage. Take a steam for 10 minutes and then use your favourite scrub gently on the areas of black heads and rinse with cold water. Steaming will make your exfoliation with scrub 10 times more effective and will maximise the results.
Chemical Exfoliant /Scrub
Now the concept of chemical exfoliant is not widely popular in Indian skin care routine. People all over the world are already well familiar with chemical exfoliant and have been doing this method since a long period of time and seeing good results. Chemical exfoliants like lactic, glycolic acid and salicylic acid not only exfoliates your skin but also it removes skin congestion which is a deep root cause of white heads and black heads. Chemical exfoliators are known to be better than physical scrubs because they aren’t as harsh as physical scrubs tend to cause micro tears on skin which damages your skin temporarily. You might want to add the ordinary or pixi chemical exfoliators to your skin routine as they ensure a congestion free skin for future.
Multani Mitti and Curd
Mix one tablespoon of fullers earth clay (Multani mitti) with one table spoon of curd. This mixture will help you as it consists of antibacterial agents that will prevent bacteria that lead to blackheads. Yogurt has lactic acid which will help loosen the pores
Baking Soda Hack
Baking soda or sodium bicarbonate solution is widely used to exfoliate skin, soften calluses, and clean inflamed skin. It helps neutralize skin’s pH balance, it has antibacterial properties and exfoliant properties which help in removing dead cells. Your skin will start producing less sebum. This mixture will uproot the blackheads from skin and will also leave your skin looking healthy and shiny because it has great skin polishing property. All you have to do is cleanse your face with warm water and pat it dry then mix one table spoon of baking soda with a little amount of water and mix it properly. Apply the paste on specific areas where you have blackheads. Gently massage it for 2-3 minutes and rinse with water.
