Born on 23 November 1986 in New Delhi, Anant Tyagi grew up in a family that valued education and discipline. Although originally connected to Bhopal, he spent much of his early life in Delhi before being enrolled at The Doon School at the age of 11. The prestigious boarding school in Dehradun is known for nurturing leadership qualities alongside academic excellence. He quickly gained significant national recognition for his on-air performance style and professional grasp of sport analysis, establishing himself as an enduring figure in Indian television production.
Throughout his career in sports media, Anant has developed relationships with some of the biggest sporting franchises in India, such as the Indian Premier League (IPL), ICC Cricket World Cup, ICC Champions Trophy, and the Rio Olympic Games. Anant Tyagi married fellow sports anchor Sagarika Chettri on 20 December 2015. The couple shares a mutual passion for sports journalism. He comes from a middle-class family; his father is a former banker, and he has a younger sister named Manjula Tyagi.
His family background also includes literary excellence—his paternal grandfather, Dushyant Kumar, was a noted poet, while his maternal grandfather, Kamleshwar, was a distinguished writer and Padma Bhushan awardee.

With a height of about 5 feet 9 inches, Anant is famous for his lively presence on screen. He is a passionate traveler, an animal lover with two pet cats, and a die-hard fan of Chelsea Football Club. When it comes to sports stadiums, Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai is one of his favorite grounds.
