Flight Lieutenant Siddharth Yadav Biography In 2026
Flight Lieutenant Siddharth Yadav was an exemplary officer of the Indian Air Force who personified commitment, discipline, and the ultimate sacrifice. He was born in the year 1997 in the village of Majra Bhalkhi, located in the Rewari District of Haryana, and came from a proud family of many generations' service to the nation. His father (Shri Sushil Kumar) had also served in the Indian Air Force, as well as both his grandfather and great-grandfather, who were in the Indian Army. For Siddharth, wearing a uniform was more than a job; it was part of the fulfillment of an inherited legacy of serving his country out of principle and respect.

He completed his education in school in Rewari and later at Cambridge School to further his training for a career in service to the country. He enrolled in the National Defence Academy in January 2016 as part of the 135th course. After completing three years of rigorous training to become disciplined in all aspects of flying at NDA in Pune, Siddharth was commissioned as a Flying Officer in the Indian Air Force on December 21, 2019. As a fighter pilot, he underwent flight training to prepare himself for combat operations. In recognition of his exemplary work, he was promoted to the rank of Flight Lieutenant on 21 December 2021.
In April 2025, Flight Lieutenant was serving with No. 224 Squadron, popularly known as "Warlords". This squadron had recently received new aircraft, including the Jaguar jet, as well as the continued commitment from both personnel and their families involved in maintaining operational and combat readiness.
Very shortly after becoming airborne, the aircraft had an extremely serious technical failure. What started as a routine sortie became an emergency, as the aircraft lost some level of control and proceeded to fly over populated areas near Suvarda village. Flight Lieutenant Siddharth was faced with a decision that would change his life forever. He displayed tremendous bravery and quick thinking by deciding not to eject straight away but to fight to avoid overflying populated areas and causing damage to civilians.
At the last moment, he instructed his co-pilot to eject, thus saving his life. The aircraft then struck the ground in an open field, thereby avoiding any loss of innocent life on the ground. However, Flight Lieutenant Siddharth Yadav was killed in the line of duty at the young age of 28. His actions are a testament to the quiet courage displayed by the members of India’s armed forces every day throughout the country.
Ten days before this disaster, Flight Lieutenant Siddharth Yadav had proposed to his fiancée and was scheduled to marry her in November. He is survived by his father, mother Smt Sushila Devi, and a younger sister.
The life of Flight Lieutenant Siddharth Yadav will be remembered for demonstrating honour, duty, and selflessness. He will be remembered as an inspiration to future generations of aircrew.
