Raised in Pune, Ganeshprasad Sridharan had an early education that stood out. His school placed a strong emphasis on critical thinking and personal morality. One turning point was when his teachers encouraged students to rethink Brutus's character in Julius Caesar, making him question the concept of absolute right or wrong. This early exposure to subjectivity helped him appreciate individuality and intellectual independence.

The College Reality Check

This enriching experience clashed sharply with his engineering college education. There, rote learning was the norm. Teachers lacked the willingness to dive deep into concepts, and students were expected to passively follow. Mandatory attendance and relentless assignments left little room for self-exploration. Sridharan quickly realized the system pushed students into a one-size-fits-all mold—especially the pressure to attempt the UPSC exams, despite their minuscule success rate. This frustration became the seed for change.

Founding Think School

In response to this systemic failure, Sridharan, along with Prakash Kothari, founded Think School. Their mission was bold yet simple: “To put a dent in the Indian education system by providing world-class education at a price less than a pair of denim jeans.”

Though they began with a physical classroom, the pandemic forced them to shut it down. Instead of giving up, they pivoted online—and social media became their launchpad. YouTube turned into their primary platform, allowing them to offer business education, communication skills, and entrepreneurial fundamentals to a wider audience.
