Triumph on Indian Idol 15
After five fierce months of the project, 24-year-old Manasi Ghosh of Kolkata has emerged as the winner of Season 15 of Indian Idol on April 6th, 2025. Dubbed "Idol Ki Crazy Girl", Manasi amazed with her diverse musical abilities by singing everything from complex classical ballads to complex fast-paced pop music and her commands over sounds dumbfounded judges and audiences alike. Out of the three finalists, Subhajit Chakraborty and Sneha Shankar won a prize of ₹25 lakh from the total prize pool, a brand new automobile, and a winner's trophy, which belonged to Manasi.

Early Musical Influences

Manasi was born in Kolkata on September 9th 2000, but grew up in Siliguri. Without a doubt, Manasi's music journey started from a young age. As Manasi tells it, she built a strong bond through music with her grandmother, mainly through prayers, and also built an enduring love of melody working with family during evenings with ongoing music and song, informing her about the music sounds she was paying attention to.

Educational and Artistic Experiences
Manasi attended Christ Christ Girls’ School, Kolkata, and after graduating with a Bachelor’s English Honours Degree from Surendranath College in 202. Manasi studied professional dancing and was consistently engaged in publicly contested singing experiences simultaneously.

Journey on Indian Idol
Manasi took us on a journey during her time on Indian Idol. From the moment she set foot on the stage to audition for Idol, she showed the judges, Neha Kakkar, Vishal Dadlani and Badshah, that her singing was so much more than just performance. Vishal said, “When Mansi sings, she’s not simply performing a song, she’s living it” after Manasi’s moving rendition of “Lag Jaa Gale”. Manasi experienced laryngitis while getting over her stage fright, but still managed to stay up late every night, crafting her work into something beautiful.

Milestones and What's Next
Before Indian Idol, Manasi was the first runner-up on Super Singer Season 3. After winning Indian Idol, she recorded one of her first Bollywood playback duets with Shaan and Lalit Pandit and hinted that she has a future collaboration with the rapper Badshah. She expects to reinvest her prize into making her independent music and further her career.
