Mithun Chakraborty

Mithun Chakraborty  is one of the most famous Indian actors and also a politician. He was born on June 16, 1950, in the city Mithun Chakrabortyof Kolkata. He is of the zodiac sign Gemini. His studies were done at Scottish Church College, Kolkata, and then onwards at Film and Television Institute of India, Pune.

His father is Basant Kumar Chakraborty and mother is Shantirani Chakraborty. Mithun Chakraborty married the popular film actress Yogeeta Bali. From her, he has four children, two sons, namely Mahaakshay and Namashi and two daughters, namely Dishani and Ushmey Chakraborty.

Mithun loves dancing and playing games like cricket and football. His favorite film artists are Amitabh Bachchan, Suchitra Sen, and Nargis. He is a great cricket fan of persons like Sunil Gavaskar, Sourav Ganguly, and Kapil Dev.

Before getting into the film industry, Mithun was also associated with the Naxalite movement. Countless books have been written on his life, such as Mithun: Amar Navikara and Mithuner Katha.
He is one of those versatile actors who has not only graduated from acting school but also began his career with an actual debut film appearance. Mithun Chakraborty debuted in the 1976 film Sweeter than Bitter.
He began his career with the cinema named Mrigayaa. In 1992, he co-founded the Cine TV Artists Association along with actors like Dilip Kumar and Sunil Dutt.

Till now, Mithun has acted in more than 350 films spread over Bengali, Oriya, Bhojpuri, Telugu, and Punjabi industries. He is best known for his iconic dance number 'Disco Dancer' in the film of the same name made in 1982. The actor also pioneered the super hit dance reality show 'Dance India Dance'.

Political Journey
He is the member of the Rajya Sabha from West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's nomination. He resigned the post in 2016.
