Nahid Rana Biography, Age, Height, Girlfriend, Stats, Religion, Family In 2025
Nahid Rana, a young and fiery pacer from Bangladesh, has quickly risen through the ranks and is now considered one of the fastest bowlers in the country's cricket scene. Born on October 2, 2002, in Chapai Nawabganj, Bangladesh, Rana's journey from a small-town cricketer to an international player is a story of passion, determination, and sheer hard work. At only 23, he has already established himself as a future right-arm fast bowler, world-renowned for being super-fast and precise.
Early Life and Background

Nahid was born and raised in Chapai Nawabganj, where he started cricketing activities rather early, showing his natural talent. In his teenage years, he developed an interest in fast bowling, and his coaches were surprised by the speed and movement he was producing. His persistence and great work ethic turned local coaches' heads, and he got lucky with Alamgir Kabir, who was helping him get his technique right, concentrating on the speed and movement off the pitch.
Being 6 feet 3 inches (1.90 m) tall, Rana has the height advantage of extra bounce, which makes him a hard bowler for batters to face. His ability to consistently bowl above 140 km/h has already earned him a reputation as one of Bangladesh’s quickest bowlers.
Domestic Cricket Journey

Nahid Rana was first introduced to the first-class circuit with Rajshahi Division at the 2021-22 National Cricket League on October 31, 2021, against Barishal Division in Cox's Bazar. His entry into first-class cricket was quite remarkable, and in no time, he got recognition, taking five wickets in a single inning in the 2022-23 season, which reflected his skillful and at times aggressive bowling style.
In January 2023, Rana stepped into T20 cricket when he represented the Khulna Tigers in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), debuting against the Dhaka Dominators. The speed of the bowler and the ability to hit decisively early during power plays allowed him to be one of the main bowlers for the squad.
Later that year, on 21 March 2023, he made his List A debut for the Rajshahi Division against Shinepukur Cricket Club at Mirpur. With his performances being consistent all over the formats, Rana demonstrated that he was ready for the next big stage—international cricket.
International Cricket Career

Nahid Rana made his international cricket debut in March 2024 when he was called to the Test squad and played against Sri Lanka at Sylhet. His call-up to the national Test squad was a turning point for the pacers of Bangladesh, who had mostly been under the spinners’ domination. The ability to swing the ball at high speeds gave the team’s bowling department a new lease of life.
Subsequently, on 11 November 2024, he made another achievement by playing his first One-Day International (ODI) match against Afghanistan at Sharjah. Though Rana was still very much a newcomer to international cricket, his performances had already started to show glimpses of his potential to be a long-term asset for Bangladesh.
In August 2024, he made headlines by delivering the fastest ball ever recorded by a Bangladeshi bowler, who hit 152 km/h, thus drawing comparisons with the great pacers like Taskin Ahmed and Mashrafe Mortaza.
Playing Style and Strengths

Nahid Rana, the right-arm fast bowler, is characterized by his aggressive style of play and his natural speed. He employs a high-arm action that makes his sharp bouncers a real headache for even the most skilled batters. Though he is mainly a bowler, he can also add some runs in the lower order, which makes him a great asset in the Test format.
Personal Life and Facts
Rana is a Muslim and has finished his Higher Secondary education. While a lot about his family life remains under wraps, it is apparent that his priority has always been cricket. He is not married yet, but he is still getting trained by expert coaches and aiming to support the fast-bowling sector in Bangladesh across the board.
