Parul's running career began in school when she would run barefoot in local meets. She began competing in 800m races, and eventually progressed to 1500m and 3000m. In the end, she decided to specialize in the 3000m steeplechase and 5000m events.

3000m steeplechase: 9:13.39

5000m: 15:10.35

Parul made history with the gold medal in the 5000m and silver medal in the 3000m steeplechase at the 2023 Asian Games as well as representing India in the finals at the World Athletics Championships.

Career
In addition to athletics, Parul works at Indian Railways, where she joined in 2015. Parul was rewarded for her contribution to Indian sports by being promoted to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Moradabad, in early 2025.

Record/awards:
Parul has received the Arjuna Award and been recognized on Forbes India’s 30 Under 30 list, and she received the Rani Laxmibai Award earlier in her career.
