This Bollywood superstar believes that repeating a lie time and again makes people believe it is the truth. He & his PR team have been saying for three decades that he is India's biggest superstar. While it was true for the first decade of the new millennium & for a few years in the 1990's, it is largely untrue for the remaining years. He had a dream run in 2023, but his box office record before it was inconsistent. He is a superstar & a permanent A-lister - nobody can take that away from him. But he is not India's biggest superstar anymore - he has not been for more than a decade now. His good friend & Bollywood contemporary was the biggest superstar from 2010-2022 & since 2022, it has been a Pan-India superstar from South India whose movies have been getting the biggest openings. As per a source, the filmmaker of the pan-India's next movie was the brains behind the move, declaring him as India's biggest superstar, which is a fact. The filmmaker was shrewd enough to know that this would lead to a lot of buzz around the movie before it even made it to the theatres. As expected the superstar's PR team has responded by flooding social media with messages proclaiming him as India's biggest superstar although he lost the box office battle when his movie clashed againt the pan India superstar when their movies clashed two years back. Ask any Bollywood trade pundit & they will agree with everything that we have written.
The superstar's manipulations have been one of the things that are rarely discussed. He regularly uses his immense clout to rig box office figures, awards & his no.1 status. He has everyone eating out of his palms. Unlike his contemporaries, he is very media savvy. He used to not shy away from giving interviews & interacting with the media. This led to no journalist busting his tall claims. He bagged best actor trophies for movies that required little or no prep on his part. His last few releases were accused of inflated figures thanks to corporate booking. While industry watchers don't shy away from calling out junior stars for corporate booking, nobody dares to question him owing to his immense clout. It is only in some social media forums where people call a spade a spade. There was a time when his PR team was calling him the world's biggest star, owing to him having more fans than Hollywood's biggest superstar - they were conveniently basing their claim on fan following & not on box office figures! They also want you to believe that the star has a huge fan following, even among the Westerners. The fact is that barely anyone knows him apart from the South Asian community.
