Bollywood Blind Item: Single Screen Owners Snub Superstar

Blind Items

Two movies released recently. One is the sequel of a hit comedy starring a senior superstar. The other one is also a sequel to a romantic movie based on cursed lovers. As per a source, a major national theatre chain, which is also the distributor of the movie starring the senior superstar, wanted single screen theatre owners to give maximum screens to their movie. But single-screen owners had a different take on it altogether. They felt that the recent success of a musical romance movie starring newcomers would attract audiences to the other movie, the sequel to the romantic movie based on cursed lovers. They refused to give guaranteed visibility & more screens to the movie backed by the national theatre chain. The studio backing the romantic movie wanted to release the movie on limited screens & then expand to more screens based on word of mouth.

The senior superstar is starring in sequels to several of his hit films. One of the sequels which released recently was a hit. He is one of the few actors who has managed to do well, even post-pandemic. The career of almost all his contemporaries nosedived after the pandemic. Focus on quality seems to be the reason behind his rock-solid performance at the box office. Depending on sequels is a strategy that has paid rich dividends to actors. It is indeed a shrewd move.

Can you guess the celebs we are talking about?
