This superstar hasn't had a clean hit in years. He was once the undisputed king of Bollywood till a few years back before the younger lot took over. His last release underperformed at the box office. Audiences felt it was another formulaic film & there was nothing new. It was a case of old wine in a new bottle. Audiences are spoiled for choice in the OTT era and did not bother to visit the theatres to catch his latest flick on the big screen. As per a source, the superstar has gone to the director of one of his most iconic films. They were a hit pair, but one flop changed their equation. Neither have been able to recreate the level of success they enjoyed while working together. They will work on the sequel to this cult classic which turned out to be a blockbuster at the box office. They might even collaborate together for an action comedy bankrolled by a top production house.

The superstar & filmmaker were thick as thieves a decade back. But creative differences while working on a movie - an art-house flick, drove a wedge in their relationship. The filmmaker's wife & friends tried their best to cajole the superstar into working with the filmmaker again. But the notoriously moody superstar was in no mood to listen. The fact that the filmmaker was able to extract a fine performance from the superstar might be one of the biggest reasons why the superstar has let bygones be bygones as far as the director is concerned. The filmmaker hasn't been able to give a hit in the past several years either.
