Nitish Kumar Reddy Cleared To Play For Sunrisers Hyderabad In IPL 2025

Nitish Kumar Reddy has passed the fitness test and has uplifted Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for IPL 2025 preparations. The young all-rounder was out of action owing to a side strain since January, but he has come around now to fully regain fitness and is good to go into contention for the squad selection. According to a PTI report, the 21-year-old successfully passed all mandatory fitness evaluations, including the yo-yo test, conducted at the BCCI Centre of Excellence. Following approval from the board’s physios, Nitish is set to return to action for the upcoming IPL season.
Recovery and Comeback
Nitish last represented India in the first T20I against England at Eden Gardens on January 22, where he did not get the opportunity to bat or bowl. He trained ahead of the second T20I in Chennai but was later ruled out of the series due to his injury.
Entering into extensive rehabilitation just to make a strong comeback, Nitish put in the hard yards to get it back to the level of peak fitness. This comeback is quite the booster for Sunrisers Hyderabad, who have retained him for ₹6 crore ahead of the previous IPL auction.

In IPL 2024, Nitish Kumar Reddy turned a lot of heads courtesy his explosive season wherein he amassed 303 runs from 13 matches at an almost unbelievable strike rate of 143, which delighted fans and selectors alike. It was on the wings of this superb performance that he made the cut in India’s tour of Australia, where he established himself with a brilliant knock of 114 runs in the fourth Test at Melbourne.
Fully fit, Nitish ready hits the SRH squad ahead of IPL 2025 as they face their first match against Rajasthan Royals on March 23 in Hyderabad. This strengthens the middle order of the team along with providing one of the important all-around options, which surely makes him one of the critical assets for SRH next season.
