Kannada TV Serial Putta Gowri Maduve:

Putta Gowri Maduve being aired on ETV Kannada, "Puttagowri Maduve", depicts the endangered life of Puttagowri Gowri. The rating increased to 211 millions from 56 millions of Colors Kannada because of the show Puttagowri Maduve. It appears from Monday to Saturday at 7:00 P.M. everybody has known quite well that this serial is the re-creation of Hindi Balika Vadhu serial. It used to come on Colors channel. It is Kannada serial with the first episode telecasted on 22 Dec 2012, Directed by K.S.Ramji. It has been publicized as the first show which brought into focus matters of child marriage on the small screen.

Story line:-

Eight-year-old Gowri is married to Mahesh in traditional village custom. Custom finding support in influential family members of Mahesh. Moreover, this family is headed by a strict matriarch Ajjamma; she enforces her wishes with an iron hand. Initially, childhood friends of Mahesh and Gowri grow close as they cope to live up to the expectations of the family. Tension through rituals they cope, their coping continues till one fateful mistake that crept into a ritual causes Mahesh to marry another woman Hima inadvertently. And she changes the course of their lives. The movie ends with Mahesh moving on with Hima. Consequences are seen on Gowri. She rebels against the customs of child marriage. She is in a dilemma due to the new responsibility taken by her in the family.
