30 Years Of Hum Aapke Hain Koun!!
Yesterday, on August 5, one of the most popular film in Bollywood "Hum Aapke Hain Koun" celebrated its 30-year anniversary. It was directed by Sooraj Barjatya starring Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Renuka Shahane, Mohnish Bahl, Anupam Kher, who portrayed the father of Madhuri Dixit and Renuka Shahane in the movie. Apparently, Anupam Kher developed facial paralysis while filming but on the other hand, Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit, believed the actor was just pulling faces to lighten the scenes.
Anupam Kher was suffering from facial paralysis when he was about to start filming his portion in Hum Aapke Hain Koun, but unfortunately the left side of his face to become malformed. But still he turned up on set instead of telling his director Barjatya about this issue. It was also the first day of Hum Aapke Hain Koun's antakshari scene, in which they have to sing songs after a pillow game routine. "I was thinking to myself as I was driving home from the doctor's appointment, I will live in fear for the rest of my life if I go home today and take a break for two months. I will believe that skipping work is the only way to get better for years to come," he reminisced during his visit on Aap Ki Adalat.
Later, the actor realized the seriousness of the matter the next day while brushing his teeth, water accidentally spilled out of his mouth. He informed Yash Chopra about his situation. and Yash ji suggested that he should see a physician. Anupam's doctor advised her to stay at home. Kher recalled, "He told me to take the medicine because I was in very bad shape."
The story of the movie was like two close-knit families and their friends are on a journey filled with love and grief as they unite to celebrate the wedding of their children. When the movie released, it became the highest-grossing Indian film, and reported with earnings of Rs 127 crore.
All the cast members delivered an outstanding performances, including the dog "Tuffy." Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! is still a very well-known movie also for its soundtrack, which has lyrics and music by Ravinder Rawal and Dev Kohli and was composed by Raam-Laxman. "Hum Aapke Hain Koun" releases in 1994 and made history as the first Indian film to gross over one billion rupees.
