Akshay Kumar & Parineeti Chopra To Star In Capsule Gill

AKSHAY KUMAR has officially come on board to essay the role of Former additional chief Mining Engineer JASWANT SINGH GILL in his biopic titled 'CAPSULE GILL' which will go on floors in UK from JULY 4th

Directed by TINU SURESH DESAI (Rustom), this film will star an ensemble of seasoned and highly acclaimed actors in supporting roles such as - RAVI KISHAN, KUMUD MISHRA, PAWAN MALHOTRA, DIBYENDU BHATTACHARYA, VARUN BADOLA, RAJESH SHARMA, VIRENDRA SAXENA and ANANTH MAHADEVAN. All of them will fly out to UK with KUMAR and will shoot there till AUGUST 22 for their portions, while KUMAR will wrap up his work by 31st JULY and will return to promote RAKSHA BANDHAN.

PARINEETI CHOPRA, will also join the cast as Akshay's WIFE in this special appearance and will shoot for her portions in RANIGANJ, later this year. AKSHAY will wrap up shoot of START-UP (Hindi Remake of SOORARAI POTTRU) by JUNE 29th, and will join the sets of CAPSULE GILL 2 days later. Apart from UK, Three short schedules are planned in MUMBAI, RANIGANJ and RAIGARH to wrap up the film by OCTOBER-NOVEMBER 2022. AKSHAY is also expected to shoot TWO more films post CAPSULE GILL in 2022

The story of CAPSULE GILL is believed to be centered around the 1989 RANIGANJ COAL MINE DISASTER and showcases how GILL, risking his own life and going against the protests of those in authority, went down a borehole in a capsule and organized the evacuation of all the trapped miners. The film celebrates Gill’s daunting act of bravery, which is still counted among the most successful and largest rescue operations in mining history.
