Amar Kaushik to direct Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor in Stree 2

With BHEDIYA turned into an average grosser at the Box Office, DINESH VIJAN has decided to change the course of HORRORVERSE and will now put forward the plans to start STREE 2, starring RAJKUMMAR RAO and SHRADDHA KAPOOR, way earlier than expected and AMAR KAUSHIK will helm the direction of the sequel as well, which will go on floors in MARCH 2023

Earlier, VIJAN wanted to get the AYUSHMANN - SAMANTHA film on floors, but with the lukewarm response to ROOHI and BHEDIYA on box office has compelled him to change the order of the films and STREE 2, which was supposed to follow their film, will now go first and will be an 2024 Q1 release. MUNJHA, which was earlier stated as a PREQUEL to STREE, will no longer be that and will instead be a STANDALONE film in this universe with its plot having a connection to STREE and will go on floors simultaneously with STREE 2, with Marathi filmmaker ADITYA SARPOTDAR directing this film. The AYUSHMANN - SAMANTHA starrer will be shot after AMAR KAUSHIK wraps the shoot of STREE 2 and is currently scheduled to go on floors in WINTER 2023 in parts of RAJASTHAN, while STREE 2 will be shot in DELHI and various other parts of India as the post credit scene revealed the residents of Chanderi - BICKY (played by Rajkummar Rao) and BITTU (played by Aparshakti Khurrana) reaches at the doorstep of JANA (Played by Abhishek Banerjee) to solve another problem plaguing them as the particles of STREE are still believed to be inside him and he can establish contact with STREE to put them out of this Supernatural mess.

Even though BHEDIYA didnt perform at expected, the plans for its SEQUEL is NOT scrapped yet and VIJAN along with KAUSHIK are now looking to establish major characters of HORRORVERSE through stand-alone films and will commission their sequels which aiming as creating situations to build crossover films over them in the span of multiple years.
