Anshuman Jha, Ridhi Dogra, and Milind Soman Star in India’s First Film About an Animal-Lover Vigilante

On January 13, 2023, Lakadbaggha will be made available everywhere. Last night at the 28th Kolkata International Film Festival, the movie received a standing ovation during its world premiere in front of a packed house.

Lakadbaggha

The premiere of Lakadbaggha (Hyena), India first-ever action movie about a vigilante animal lover, took place yesterday night as part of the prestigious Kolkata International Film Festival. The movie’s producers have now revealed that it will be released in theatres around the world on January 13, 2023. The main poster for the movie keeps the tagline from the teaser poster, “It’s not the size of the dog in the fight, it’s the size of the fight in the dog,” by Mark Twain. The movie, which was based on actual events that happened in Kolkata, is about the illegal pet trade.

Lakadbaggha

“Lakadbaggha is my love letter to dogs (and animals in general),” said Anshuman Jha. “I can’t wait for the world to meet Arjun’s character on January 13th.” His superpower is that he is an ordinary person. The action is unlike anything you’ve ever seen in this worldwide movie with an Indian soul that is set in Kolakata.
Ridhi Dogra
“Lakadbaggha is certainly a wonderful film — it has action excitement but also a soul,” Ridhi Dogra continued. Akshara, my persona occupies the liminal space between the protagonist and antagonist’s universes. It is unique because it is my first appearance on a huge screen. In January 2023, I can’t wait for everyone to see it.
Lakadbaggha
“While the movie is a social critique inspired by a few genuine occurrences, the action will surprise you,” said the film’s director, Victor Mukherjee. Although Anshuman has always experimented with the personas he plays on screen, this time he has taken it a step further, and his transformation in this movie will astound everyone.
The entire cast, including Riddhi and Paresh, Milind, and others, have left their comfort zones. Lakadbaggha is fundamentally a film about a person who goes above and beyond what is necessary to discover the truth and defend Indian stray dog breeds. I'm hoping the film will be a successful start to the year for the film business.
On December 28th, 2022, the HBO South Asian International Film Festival in New York will host the international premiere of the action-thriller starring Anshuman Jha, Ridhi Dogra, Milind Soman, and Paresh Pahuja. With a story about Indian breeds in Kolkata and a Lakadbaggha in the middle, it is an international spectacle with an Indian heart. It was shot by French DOP Jean-Marc-Selva, and Kecha Khamphakdee designed the action.
